NORMAN PILUKE

Norman Piluke, was born in 1930 in Toronto, Canada. He began his working life in the sheet metal industry with his father. He studied Sheet Metal at Ryerson Polytechnic College. Subsequently, he proceeded to manage his own successful contracting business. At the same time, Norman, the artist, was satisfying his artistic cravings in, painting and photography.

In 1980, photography and darkroom printing became a serious venture. He exhibited in art shows and in the Toronto Camera Club. And in 1987 the Norman Piluke Photo Gallery was established in Toronto.

Initially Norman traveled extensively across Canada and internationally using all systems from 35 mm SLR to large format view film cameras including 8x10. The subjects he captured seemed as limitless as his artistic talent and technical knowledge. Norman's photographic portfolio encompassed a wide range of subjects from nature, aerial, nautical to international travel. In this short period, he became a published photographer worldwide.

"A reality exists in the ablity to see it."

The quality and technical marvel of Norman's photographs were produced for twenty years in his darkroom lab using 5 enlargers and a 40" Kreonite processor. He became a master of creating photographic art using traditional darkroom printing methods. Every image that he produced, whether it was format size or murals contained great compositions, color and sharpness.

By year 2000, Norman jumped into digital photography after a six year self study in Adobe Photoshop. He was one of the first professional photographers who switched over totally to digital photography including digital fine art printing. He uses the latest professional 35 DSLR Canon cameras and large format Fine Art Epson printers.

These Fine Art Photographs by Norman Piluke can be found in many homes around the world. To purchase, please contact us at 416 533 4094 or visit the Norman Piluke Photo Gallery in Toronto.
